The Macchi C.200 Saetta was developed in 1936 due to the need for a more recent fighter airplane. Although it was underpowered and lightly armed, it still managed to have a good performance when compared with the Hurricane. Its bigger problems were the slow manufactoring time and it required experienced pilots.
The revell model kit is actually nice! It is raised panel lines, and the original mould dates back to the late sixties, but it seens quite accurate. The engine is very nice, specially if we consider its age!
The interior, well, there isn't. No dashboard and nothing inside up to the landing gear wells. But even if it is an open cockpit, you dont have a good angle to peek inside, so it becomes easy to fill it in.
The landing gear wells do need some work to fill the void. But it can be easy to do with some putty and thin rods.Landing gear itself is nice.
Appart from that, it is appealing! Even if you may need some extra sanding on the engine cowling to go to higher standards.
The fitting is very nice. Perhaps a little work to fit the engine, but glue it first to the fuselage, and only then glue the cowling. in fact, you can leave the cowling and propeller unglued, they fit perfectly.
As a final remark, yes, its old, yes, it has raised panel lines, but its a nice and cheap little airplane, with a lots of potencial.
