The P40 was
a promising airplane, with good performance, but which ended up having a role
different from the one intended. Due to the lack of a turbocharger, it wasn't
good in high altitude flight, but it was astonishing in low level flight.
In its early versions it faced the Japaneze Zero on the Pearl Harbour attack, but on its late versions, it became crucial on other war scenarios, like Africa.
This is
Revell 1/72 P40K. It was built some time ago, and the model is not that recent.
However, it is not bad, in fact, it can become a very pleasant model.
It has
engraved panel lines, the amount of detail is afordable, the rear landing gear
could have the leather protective cover, but it is easy to correct.
Although
I've done this one years ago and painted all with brush, I believe that with
some more patience can become a "near match" to the quality of the
new P40b from Airfix.
As a final
remark, if you find it, buy it without hesitating.
