This is the review of the 1/144 Concorde from British Airways from Revell.
The Concorde was one of the greatest achievements in terms of passengers transportation. It seemed to be paving the way where every air transport would travel at the speed of sound, and all the main airplane manufacturers were doing their own design... In the end, the joint venture between French and British companies made one of the most elegant airplane ever, with a sleek design built for speed. Only the Tu-144 reached near it, but was cursed with a very underdimentioned main spar, and was retired early on. It still remains as the only supersonic jetliner to come into service.
This is an old model from Revell. So be ready for some small issues. the first, is to modify the front windows, as it is a great upgrade. The original one has a square as a front window... so, get ready for some slight scrach build... this is what it should look like.
The landing gear is not top notch, but it is quite nice, and the gear wells are well represented, we can say their not bad.
on the engines, well, you'll also need to mod a little... The original had variable intake vanes, which you'll have to scratch build with some plastic... but after doing it the difference is astonishing.
Overall, it is a nice model. Requires some work to look more like the original one, but its not something very demanding... It can be done with some small scratch building.
This is still with the old British Airways livelly, but it doesnt change its elegance... Overall, it is a nice Concorde. will look elegant on any shelf, even if you decide to build it out of the box. But bear in mind: the front cockpit window does require some modding...
