Airfix 1/144 Boeing 707-420 British Airways

Another 707... This one with the conway engines.
This is another version of the iconic airplane, the first that made flight a profitable and usefull business. You may check the other review to know more about it. Another thing that makes this airplane visibly different is the lower fin between the rudder... This was demanded by british aviation experts because if an outboard engine would fail, the assymetrical push could make it hard or impossible to control.

About the model, its not that bad... although hard to redo the raised panner lines after sanding it...
The landing gear is kind of bad... I've seen much better on contemporany kits... But can be improved by making the gear wells deeper.
The engines exit can be improved with some tubing... just use them a little more thin than I did...
I don't know how accurate the wings were, as there were several designs. Little more area, little less, different flaps... They don't look too bad, though...
It is old, but not a terrible kit... I've seen better from Airfix in the airliner segment on these production years... But its not something that you'll avoid or buy because its the only one afordable... It can be nice... With some dedication and time, it can become beautyfull. Just don't begin it as a weekend model, as if you do, probably it will endup in a crash and burn diorama...
